Duncan Hollomon

A little about me..

I moved to Seattle a few years ago from Rockville, Maryland (outside Washington, DC) where I had a private practice and worked at a local mental health clinic.

I work mostly with adults on a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, career guidance, etc., as well as with couples who are struggling with communication and intimacy challenges, or who are in need of divorce or separation mediation. I'm comfortable working with spiritual issues as a part of therapy if they should come up.

I bring a rather diverse background to this work, including 15 years working as a professional singer and actor, law (I have a JD), and organizational development. As a psychotherapist, my master's work was in pastoral counseling at Loyola College in Baltimore, and my clinical PhD is from the Union Institute. My thesis was on mindfulness and the practice of psychotherapy, something I've been interested in for quite a while now.

Currently I teach at Antioch University in the mental health counseling program, Western Washington University, and at the Physicians Leadership College at St. Thomas University in Minneapolis. I've conducted workshops in mindfulness and mental health, dialogue, stress reduction, and mental health and the law.

I live in an intentional cohousing community here in West Seattle, where I'm building my own home.

I'm insurance reimbursable, and have a sliding fee scale, since I believe all of us struggle with these issues, and charges for psychotherapy should be proportionate to one's financial resources.
