I am an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and nationally certified
Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatry.
Twenty- four years ago, I embarked on a journey as a nurse and left behind my studies in American Literature. It was a practical decision, given the plethora of literature majors applying for every job available in many areas including that field itself. I believed I would come back to the life of a writer at some point, but instead happened upon a happy accident.
What I discovered was love of the spirit and values I found in the nursing profession
and I was hooked. I've built an expertise which allows me to participate in the lives of many amazing persons in their struggles to overcome obstacles and to live their lives more fully and joyfully. This has been a great privilege, and I am grateful that economic necessity turned me in this direction
In becoming a CNS, I have realized the quintessence of my experience in assessing for and prescribing psychiatric medication. I bring to my practice a great practical knowledge base and a compassionate commitment to the individuals with whom I work. I offer this lifetime of knowledge to you and to your loved ones by way of helping to alleviate suffering such as experienced in depression, anxiety, and in other chemical imbalances that may prohibit full expression of our beautiful human spirits.
I generally work with your medical and/or mental health service provider to develop the fullest possible understanding of you so that we can work together for your well-being. This is in recognition of the complexity of each one of us, and the need to address issues as globally as possible, and with a team effort wherever possible.
