When you begin therapy you take time to connect with parts of yourself that need your attention, to gather your strengths and to clarify your goals and values. My role as a therapist is to help you facilitate your own healing and growth in a supportive and respectful environment
My work is based on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which is very effective for helping people move from feeling stuck, confused or overwhelmed toward clarity and calm. We can work together to enhance your mindfulness of your own self and to repair the damage to any parts of you that have been wounded in your life journey. To accomplish this we will pay attention to various aspects of you, including thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, behaviors and spiritual experience. You may learn about your triggers, how to appreciate your strengths and vulnerabilities as well as those of your friends and family. It is also important to examine and understand the social, cultural and historic influences which have impacted our family and individual experiences. My practice currently includes work with men and women overcoming stress, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to loss and life changes.
